Apollo 11 50th anniversary

The Speedmaster is one of OMEGA's most iconic timepieces, having participated in all six lunar missions. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Apollo 11, OMEGA launches a limited edition model of 6969 pieces.

The timepiece features a 42mm stainless steel case with a 18K Moonshine ™ gold bezel with a polished finish. The bezel ring is in polished black ceramic [ZrO2] with a tachymeter scale in OMEGA Ceragold ™. The gray and black painted surface dial features 18K Moonshine ™ gold hands and indexes. The only exception is the central chronograph seconds hand, made of Moonshine ™ gold with PVD coating. At 11 o'clock stands the only indication of the hours, while at 9 o'clock is the exclusive Moonshine ™ 18K gold counter with laser engraving depicting Buzz Aldrin landing on the lunar surface.

The NAIAD LOCK system caseback is decorated with numerous engravings, while the astronaut's laser-engraved imprint is placed on a medallion below the sapphire crystal. Among the Moonshine ™ 18K gold-plated inscriptions, the quotes: "THAT'S ONE SMALL STEP FOR A MAN" and "ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND."

The watch comes with a polished and brushed metal bracelet and an extra Velcro strap with black cork coating. It is powered by the OMEGA Master Chronometer caliber 3861.
