To set a different time zone, press the bezel down, turn it to the desired time zone and release it: the hour hand, the 24 hour indicator for day / night and the date automatically rotate together with the bezel. Nations using daylight saving time are marked with a small "S" on the bezel. For this mechanism, the IWC engineers have combined three technologies: the ring of the cities of the Pilot's Watch Worldtimer, on which the name of a city to represent each time zone is reported. Secondly, the amortized rotating bezel, used for the first time in the Porsche Design Ocean 2000 of the 1980s. The ring can only move if you exert some pressure on two opposite points, in order to avoid an involuntary movement of the time zone. Thirdly, the external-internal rotating flap of the Aquatimer, which transfers the movement via a differential mechanism to the hour wheel, the 24-hour indicator and the date change wheel.
