Apollo 11 50th anniversary

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the watch that OMEGA offered to astronauts in 1969 to celebrate the first moon landing in history, the Maison produced this Speedmaster in a limited edition of only 1,014 pieces, animated by the hand-wound Master Chronometer caliber 3861 .

This commemorative timepiece was made of 18K Moonshine ™ gold. The “step” dial with vertical brushed finish, also in 18K Moonshine ™ gold, features faceted hour markers in onyx. Inspired by the 1969 timepiece, it is characterized by the addition of burgundy details on the ceramic bezel, on the engravings on the case back and on the movement.

The internal decorative ring of the case back, made of 18K Moonshine ™ burnished gold, features a partial map of the American continent and a rounded insert of lunar meteorite, which respect the real proportions of the Earth and the Moon.
