The OMEGA Speedmaster is one of OMEGA's most iconic timepieces. The Moonwatch "First Omega in Space" is inspired by the watch worn by astronaut Wally Shirra in 1962 while orbiting the Earth during the "Sigma 7" mission.
This numbered edition model features a bold black lacquered dial with small seconds dial, 30-minute and 12-hour counters, central chronograph hand, and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The black bezel with tachymeter scale is mounted on a 39.7mm stainless steel case with symmetrical lugs, presented on a brown leather strap.
The chronograph is powered by the OMEGA caliber 1861, the famous manual movement used on the Moon, protected by a caseback on which the historic emblem of the 1962 hippocampus is embossed.
